Will Mahomes become the GOAT?

Who is Patrick Mahomes?
Patrick Mahomes is undisputably the best Quarterback in the NFL, and has been basically since he entered the league in 2017. At only 27 years old, Mahomes is a 2x Super Bowl MVP and 2x NFL MVP. He signed a 10 year contract for a total of 503 million dollars, mainly due to his incredible arm talent and leadership. Mahomes' contract is currently the largest of all time.
Recency Bias
Because of his unarguable talent, many people believe Mahomes will retire the greatest player to ever play the game. The most prestigious nickname in all of sports, the GOAT, is held by some of the best athletes to ever step foot on this planet. Wayne Gretzky, Tiger Woods, and arguably Micheal Jordan or LeBron James are part of this exclusive club. As talented as Mahomes is, his recent success does not necessarily mean he will join that crowd.
The Current GOAT
Tom Brady is commonly acknowledged by the NFL community as the GOAT. With a resume almost as long as Elon Musk's, Brady recently retired the most accomplished quarterback of all time. He has 7 Super Bowl wins, 251 total wins, 649 touchdown passes, and 3 MVPs. It will take A LOT for someone to dethrone him.
What Will it Take to Dethrone the GOAT?
That's where Patrick Mahomes comes in. Because of his talent and accomplishments at such a young age, some ignore what it took for Tom Brady to implement his legacy. Brady had already won his third Super Bowl when he was Mahomes' age, and had just had his best season yet. What will Mahomes did need to accomplish? The short answer- a lot. Mahomes will need to be around for a while, which is tougher than it was back in the day due to how fast paced the game is now. As great as he was at such a young age, what's amazing about Brady is how he aged. Winning four Super Bowls after turning 37 years old, Brady aged like fine wine. Mahomes will not only need to win more then 7 championships, but he'll need to do so in a league with a lot more completion then Brady's days.
The Verdict
Patrick Mahomes will not retire a more accomplished quarterback than Tom Brady, but that should be obvious. Brady's abnormal success can not and will not ever be replicated. He has 7 total Super Bowl victories, 3 or more than every other person who has ever played the game. One of which, was against Patrick Majomes himself. The only other head-to-head was in the AFC championship in 2019, which Brady also took the victory in. The main point is that Brady always has and always will have Mahomes' number, even out of his prime. Patrick Mahomes will retire one of the greatest players of all time, but Tom Brady's' status is just unattainable and his career will never be topped.
